VCM (vinyl chloride) monomer feed filtration

It is important that VCM monomer raw materials do not contain visible colloids and impurities; these impurities can cause fish eye effects or insulation failures, while high-end, high-price applications do not allow the use of unqualified PVC. The filtering effect of VCM directly affects the quality of PVC.

Unreacted monomer circulation filtration

The monomers that are not involved in the reaction (mainly vinyl chloride) will be recovered by the condenser. The recycling process will generate foam on the upper part of the reactor. The foam carrying PVC particles will block the condenser and cause production failure. The filter is used to protect the condenser.

Vinyl acetate monomer filtration

Vinyl acetate monomers are sometimes used to reduce crystallization while allowing the final product to react at a lower temperature. VAc is normally used in a ratio of 9 to 15% by weight.
