[China Instrument Network Instrumentation Standard] Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued a draft of the product industry standard "Internet of Things Meter" for comments, and for national technical agencies, research institutes and related industry enterprises to solicit opinions.


The standard consists of Sanchuan Wisdom Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Xingyuan Smart Meter Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Water Group Co., Ltd., China Mobile Internet of Things Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Institute of Metrology and Testing, Xi'an Qiqi Electronics Co., Ltd., and Tencent Technology ( (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and other joint drafting.

The standard is drafted according to the rules given in GB/T1.1-2009 and stipulates the scope, terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, and storage of the Internet of Things meter. It is suitable for drinking cold water IoT meter and hot water IoT meter with 2G, 3G, 4G and NB-IoT communication methods.

The standard proposes that the Internet of Things meter has two types of integral and split type. According to the indicator device classification can be divided into mechanical type (the type of Internet of things water meter indicating device using mechanical instructions), electronic type (the type of Internet of things water meter indicating device uses electronic instructions); according to the applicable installation environment classification can be divided into B-level ( Fixed IoT meters installed in buildings, Class C (fixed IoT meters installed outdoors); Class E1 (residential, commercial, and light industrial), E2 (industrial) according to electromagnetic environment classification .

For the actual situation of IoT water meters, the standard was developed with reference to GB/T 778.1, "Cleaning of Drinking Water Meters for the Measurement of Closed Full-Pipe Water Flow Meters and Hot Water Meters Part 1: Specifications," and GB/T 778.3 "Closed Full-pipe Flows of Water Flow.
