After Dongfeng Yueda Kia started production at the third plant, its production capacity has reached the level of one million, and the previously troubled capacity issue will also be completely resolved. In addition, in order to adapt to the launch of the new energy policy, the R&D center established by Dongfeng Yueda Kia will also further improve the company's technology and cultivate the ability of the company to independently research and develop new energy.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia's current products are only concentrated in A0, A and B family cars and compact SUV models, in the high-end models are still blank. According to the new car plan announced by Dongfeng Yueda KIA, high-end models such as the K4, C-Class, new energy vehicles and 7 SUVs will be launched between 2014 and 2016. The hybrid system developed by Dongfeng Yueda Kia will be used in domestic high-end models, and the five K5, C-class, and mid-size SUVs are expected to be equipped.

At present, the first-line market has begun to implement limited purchases, and the new energy field has become another major growth point for the development of automotive companies. At present, the K5 hybrid introduced by Kia Motors with imported methods has already been sold in China, but this model is "light mixing" and the reduction in fuel consumption is not obvious. However, China Netcom learned from insiders that the hybrid power developed by Dongfeng Yueda Kia is “remixed”, which has obviously helped fuel consumption.

The Dongfeng Yueda Kia R&D Center was built in parallel with the third factory to increase local R&D capabilities and increase research and development for low fuel consumption, energy saving and new energy vehicles. Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors Co., Ltd. R & D center covers an area of ​​450,000 square meters, which includes R & D building, test area and driving test field. The predecessor of this R&D center is to implement localization training for Kia overseas engines. The mid-term task is to develop a suitable power system for the Chinese market. In the future, this R&D center will shoulder the task of the KIA-made hybrid system. .

In recent years, under the influence of a series of policies, such as the restricted car line, China's automobile market has slowed down the pace of advancement, but KIA is one of the "alternatives." In 2011, the sales volume of Dongfeng Yueda Kia exceeded 430,000 units, an increase of 30.3% year-on-year, and the industry ranked eighth in the industry; in 2012, it sold 480,000 units, ranking the industry to seventh. Last year, the sales volume of Dongfeng Yueda Kia reached 547,000 units, which exceeded the previously set targets. This year, the manufacturers have set sales targets at 650,000 vehicles.
