Chifeng Dongshan becomes the first “grid-friendly” wind farm

Datang New Energy Chifeng Dongshan Wind Farm has become the first “grid-friendly” wind farm in the Mainland.

At present, the Dongshan Wind Farm has broken through and innovated 11 technologies to better solve the technical problem of unstable wind power grids. The technical aspects basically achieved breakthroughs in three aspects: low voltage ride through, wind power prediction, and active and reactive remote adjustment. According to analysis by industry insiders, if more than 40 million kilowatts of wind turbines in the Mainland achieve this technological breakthrough, the annual power generation will increase by 28 billion U.S. dollars, which is equivalent to a Three Gorges project.
